Dr. Hossam Hosni, head of the Scientific Committee to Combat Corona at the Ministry of Health and Population, said that the world is witnessing an increase in infection with Coronavirus (known also as COVID-19) in the current period, but not an increase in the severity of cases.

And he added that the ministry did not advise at any moment to give up applying preventive measures, noting that citizens felt, in the recent period, a kind of boredom. Or check for the virus.

Hosni noted that the winter season - before the emergence of "Covid-19" - is known for the activity of respiratory viruses, whether influenza or respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), saying that the severity of the latter is greater for children under 6 months of age.

He stated that the treatment of syncytial virus depends on symptomatic treatment, pointing out that its incubation period ranges from 3 to 6 days, and its symptoms may last up to 14 days.
