Japan Health Ministry has reported on Monday 173 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 2578.

In addition, the county has so far registered 64 deaths, according to the ministry.

It is worth mentioning that, Japanese authorities have planned to ban the entry of foreigners who have recently visited the US, most parts of Europe, China and South Korea as a preventive measure against the spread of the novel coronavirus in the country.

The ban will apply to those who have visited one of the designated regions in the 14 days prior to their arrival in Japan.

In Japan, Tokyo recorded its biggest daily increase in Covid-19 cases on Sunday, as authorities identified large infection clusters in and around the capital.

On March 11, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared coronavirus a global pandemic on March 11 as the new virus has rapidly spread to more than 500,000 people from Asia to the Middle East, Europe, and the United States.

The virus caused complete paralysis in all sports activities worldwide, as many countries around the world suspended all the sporting activities due to concerns over the spread of the virus.

More cases of the virus, which causes respiratory disease Covid-19, continue to emerge, with outbreaks in South Korea, Italy, and Iran.

The data collected so far showed that at least 549,220 people are infected and about 24,866 people have died.

Transmission of virus between humans happens when someone comes into contact with an infected person’s secretions, such as droplets in a cough.
