COVID-19: Egypt Delivers Life-saving Equipment to Zambians

Egypt's ambassador to Zambia Moataz Anwar did not miss out to mention that his country stands with Zambians amid a spike in COVID-19 cases in the two spheres.

As Zambia currently battles the second wave of COVID-19 and medical infrastructure in some states is outstretching its capacity, Egypt has stepped forward to provide medical and life-saving support during the ordeal.

According to the ambassador of Egypt to Zambia, an Egyptian airplane with oxygen devices and other medical equipment arrived in Lusaka, earlier this week. It is pertinent to note the ambassador did not miss out to mention Egypt stands with African nations during this cautious time and

In a statement, Anwar said: "Zambia is one of our closest and most important friends. We stand with people of Zambia particularly during these difficult times and in this regard are experiencing and are sending life-saving equipment to our Zambian allies."

 

 

 

Moreover, official Egypt’s Foreign Ministry statement had said: “The delivery of the assistance, which will be transferred to Zambia by air through a series of flights throughout the week, is the result of the Foreign Ministry's work in cooperation with the Zambian Health Minister Sylvia Maisabo, together with full coordination with the Zambian government through Egyptian  embassy in Lusaka and the Zambia embassy in Cairo.”
