On Wednesday, the Cairo Court of Appeals issued a media gag order on the murder trial of judge Ayman Haggag and another defendant, who are accused of the premeditated murder of Haggag’s wife, TV presenter Shaimaa Gamal.
The Public Prosecution has earlier remanded in custody the husband of the victim, pending investigations into his involvement in the case.
The buried body of the TV presenter was discovered in a rented ranch after a man, the second suspect, willingly offered his testimony in the case.
He then confessed to his participation in the crime.
The departed was in her 40s. She was known for her program ElMoshagheba (The Troublemaker) on LTC satellite channel, from which she moved to work for El Hadath satellite channel.
On June 30, Security authorities announced arresting a man accused of killing his wife, TV presenter Shaimaa Gamal, in Suez governorate after intensifying investigations and gathering the required information.
Earlier in June, the Public Prosecution announced launching a probe into the murder of Gamal after her husband, a member of a judicial authority, reported that she is missing.
The husband told the prosecution that his wife disappeared from in front of a commercial complex in October city in Giza without accusing anyone.
Later, a person expressed to the prosecution willingness to give his testimony about the incident, saying he maintain a close relationship with the husband of Gamal.
