On Monday, the Economic Court, headed by Counselor Amr El Meligy, issued a ruling obliging Palestinian-Egyptian film director Tarek Al Eryan to pay EGP 1,500,000 to the "Qanawat" telecom company.
Al Eryan has been in an ongoing legal battle with "Qanawat" in the past 3 years over Syrian megastar Assala Nasri's album "Mohtamma Bel Tafaseel" and singles released in 2018.
The ruling comes after the director violated the terms of the contract with the telecom company to deliver the album.
He refused to hand over the album along with other singles in 2018, despite receiving money from the company to do so and sold the music to another company.
The court also ruled Al Eryan to pay 5% legal benefits as well as to pay expenses and attorney fees.
