Coronavirus Worldwide Cases Surpass 84.61 Mln

A Reuters statistics showed that more than 84.61 million people were infected with the emerging coronavirus worldwide, while the total number of deaths resulting from the pandemic reached one million and 837,557 deaths.

The coronavirus cases have been recorded in more than 210 countries and regions since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.

Noteworthy, Egypt confirmed on Sunday 1,309 new infections, raising the total cases to 142,187 since the beginning of the virus outbreak.

“Sixty-four more deaths were confirmed; raising the total number to 7,785,” Khaled Megahed, the Health Ministry’s spokesman, said in a statement.

“Up to 113,898 coronavirus patients have recovered so far,” the spokesman said.
