The Health Ministry and the World Health Organization (WHO) on Sunday announced that a second coronavirus case of a foreigner was confirmed in Egypt.
In a joint statement, Khaled Megahed, the ministry's spokesman, said that the case tested positive for the virus after he underwent the laboratory tests.
"The case's health condition is stable," Megahed noted.
"The number of infected cases in Egypt reached two," he stated, pointing out that the first case was discharged from the hospital.
All the country's ports and airports are on high alert and the ministry follows up the situation 24/7 to monitor coronavirus cases.
In this regard, WHO Representative in Egypt John Jabbour lauded the rapid response of the Egyptian government and its transparency in dealing with the confirmed case.
