The Coptic Orthodox Church has announced an update regarding the medical condition of Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, following a successful surgical procedure on one of his kidneys in Austria.
In an official statement issued earlier today, the Church confirmed that the operation was completed successfully as part of routine medical examinations and follow-up tests.
The statement emphasized that no complications were observed and that he is recovering well under medical supervision.
The Church explained that Pope Tawadros II is currently spending several days in a hospital in Austria for post-operative monitoring, in accordance with medical recommendations, to ensure the stability of his condition.
After being discharged from the hospital, he is expected to move to the Monastery of Saint Anthony the Great in Austria for recovery before returning to Egypt.
