Prime Minister (PM) Dr. Mostafa Madbouly met today with several heads of state, government leaders, and international institutions, including His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President; His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait; Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan; Pakistani Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif; Chairman of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council Lt. Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan; and Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), among others.
These meetings came on the sidelines of his participation in the high-level segment of the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Azerbaijan.
The Cabinet official spokesperson Mohamed El-Homsany stated that these meetings addressed ways to foster cooperation in several areas, especially climate change and green transition, adding that the discussions emphasized the strong political and economic ties between Egypt and the countries participating in the summit.
The meetings highlighted the significance of COP29 as an essential opportunity to enhance collaboration between countries toward sustainability and to outline the commitments of participating nations on climate action.
In his meeting with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Madbouly expressed pride in the strategic partnership between Egypt and the UAE, noting both sides' commitment to deepening this relationship in various fields for the benefit of both peoples.
During his discussion with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, PM welcomed her and expressed satisfaction with the successful cooperation between Egypt and the IMF. Georgieva, in turn, appreciated Egypt's leadership and government efforts and acknowledged the successful and tangible progress achieved in the country's economic reform program.
In his meeting with the Crown Prince of Kuwait, Madbouly affirmed Egypt’s support for Kuwait’s efforts to achieve its Vision 2035. He praised the outcomes of the 13th Egyptian-Kuwaiti Joint Committee held in Egypt from September 10-12, 2024.
PM also expressed Egypt's interest in encouraging Egyptian companies to participate in development projects in Kuwait, acknowledging Kuwait's support for Egypt's development efforts.
