The Chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee in the US House of Representatives, Michael McCaul, confirmed to CNN Channel that there are two thousand US Marines off the coasts of Gaza and Israel and that there is a possibility of landing them to participate in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
“The Marine Expeditionary Force is very important because it will be the driving force in the event of a landing on the ground to participate in the war,” he said.
McCaul explained that there are currently 2,000 Marines “off the coast of Gaza and Israel,” sent by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin to the region.
On Saturday, October 7, the Commander-in-Chief of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Hamas movement, announced the start of Operation “Al-Aqsa Flood” to put an end to “Israeli violations.” Al-Deif said in a statement: “The first strike, which targeted the enemy’s positions, airports and military fortifications, exceeded 5,000 missiles and shells.”
