The Pentagon has launched a review of the AUKUS defense agreement, concluded under Joe Biden, to ensure it is consistent with Trump's agenda. This raises concerns in Britain and Australia about the $240 billion agreement.

According to The Guardian, the Pentagon's move raises concerns among allies about the future of the trilateral alliance designed to counter China's military rise. Australia relies on AUKUS to renew its entire submarine fleet. A Pentagon official said: "The Department is reviewing the AUKUS agreement as part of ensuring this initiative is consistent with the previous administration's 'America First' agenda.

This means ensuring the highest levels of readiness for our armed forces, intensifying allies' efforts to fulfill their role in collective defense, and ensuring the defense industrial base meets our needs."
