Egypt’s Journalists’ Syndicate, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications, held a one-day training workshop on generative artificial intelligence (AI) for journalists, aiming to enhance media professionals’ skills in using emerging technologies to improve content creation.
The workshop, titled “Generative AI for Journalists,” was led by Dr. Jihan Allam, lecturer of artificial intelligence at Ismailia University. She introduced participants to the fundamentals of generative AI, prompt engineering techniques, journalism-specific case studies, and the ethical challenges linked to AI use in the newsroom.
The interactive session included practical exercises that allowed journalists to produce AI-generated content that is accurate, relevant, and engaging for audiences.
Organizers said the initiative reflects growing efforts to equip journalists with the technological tools necessary to adapt to rapid changes in the digital media landscape.
