Egypt’s Journalists’ Syndicate, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), held a one-day training workshop on generative artificial intelligence (AI) for journalists, aiming to enhance media professionals’ skills in using emerging technologies to improve content creation.
The workshop, titled “Generative AI for Journalists,” was inaugurated under the patronage of Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat and supervised by Eng. Ghada Labib, Deputy Minister for Institutional Development.
Dr. Jihan Allam, lecturer of artificial intelligence at Ismailia University, led the training, introducing participants to the fundamentals of generative AI, prompt engineering techniques, journalism-specific case studies, and the ethical challenges linked to AI use in the newsroom.
The interactive session included practical exercises that allowed journalists to produce AI-generated content that is accurate, relevant, and engaging for audiences.
The initiative was organized Eng. Mahmoud Kandil, Project Manager, and Eng. Gina Adel along with the Journalists’ Syndicate, reflecting growing efforts to equip journalists with the technological tools necessary to adapt to rapid changes in the digital media landscape.
