Common 7 Side Effects of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine

After the emergence of first effective vaccine for COVID-19, now time has come to report the most common side effects, which are not severe, but you should know about them.

The US Food and Drug Administration FDA said on Sunday that the current clinical trial of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine had already begun, noting that the vaccine has been shown to prevent COVID-19 following 2 doses given 3 weeks apart. It stated that the duration of protection against the virus infection is still unknown.

The reported side effects of the new vaccine are as follows:

1-Pain in the injection site A pain in the arm might be felt around the injection site, especially after getting the second dose.

2- Feeling of tiredness 

Feeling of tiredness after getting the vaccine means that it is doing its job. The Covid-19 vaccines are 'more reactogenic than the flu vaccine,' said Arnold Monto, an epidemiologist at the University of Michigan who leads the panel of experts that will advise the FDA about authorizing Covid-19 vaccines.

3- Headache

A splitting headache is also a common side effects of COVID-19 vaccine for some people.

4- Muscle Pain

You might feel muscle pain, especially in the arm, but potentially appearing elsewhere, some of these pains may be signs that your immune system is making antibodies in response to the viruses in the vaccine.

5- Fever

A mild fever is also a common side effect but it lasts only for few days, after that it will come to normal rates.

6- The chills

Feeling "chilled was also reported in a percentage of patients, they had chills and low-grade fever

7- Joint Pain

You "could have fever — including rarely high fever — fatigue, headaches, chills, muscle aches, joint pain

 

Finally, until you are vaccinated, you should always wear a face mask, keep social distance, avoid large crowds, and maintain good hand hygiene to protect your life and the lives of your beloved ones.
