Mushir al-Masry, a commander in the Palestinian Hamas movement, said that an agreement to exchange prisoners with Israel is imminent, but it depends on one condition that Tel Aviv did not accept.
Al-Masry added to “Sputnik” that Israel rejects the condition for the movement’s leaders to leave the Gaza Strip without harming them, which has hindered reaching an agreement until now.
No official statements have been issued by Israel regarding the prisoner exchange agreement yet.
Yesterday, Thursday, the United States announced that “Israel will begin implementing truces for four hours in the northern Gaza areas every day, with an announcement three hours in advance.”
Israel informed the states that there would be no military operation during periods of cessation of fighting," describing this step as "in the right direction."
Two humanitarian corridors will be opened that will allow residents to flee the fighting in Gaza."
