France has announced the withdrawal of Coca-Cola Cherry bottles in France due to health risks associated with bisphenol A.

The government website "Rappel Conso" stated that these bottles are being recalled as a precautionary measure because they contain bisphenol A, used in the internal coatings of containers made from epoxy resin.

Bisphenol A, banned in France since 2015 despite previous use in canning, is known to disrupt hormone glands, according to the French Agency for Food Safety.

This chemical is suspected of causing various disorders and diseases, including breast cancer and infertility.

The "Rappel Conso" website did not specify the number of affected bottles, with the recall set to continue until August 27.

Consumers who purchased these bottles can request a full refund.

Coca-Cola clarified that the recall does not affect other Coca-Cola Cherry products sold in France, except those in B&M stores.

The recall applies to bottles produced outside France, according to Coca-Cola, while products manufactured and distributed within France by Coca-Cola Europacific Partners France are unaffected.
