CNN, a US news network, reported that classified documents leaked from the US Department of Defense ( Pentagon) contained information showing that the United States was spying on Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
According to the American channel, one of those close to Zelensky said that he was not surprised by this position by the United States, and described it as "expected."
The channel indicated that great disappointment prevailed among the Ukrainian officials after they received this news.
According to the channel, the leaked documents are based on US electronic intelligence information, according to which Zelensky proposed at the end of February to "strike the locations of the concentration of Russian forces in the Rostov region, using drones, because Ukraine does not have long-range weapons capable of reaching this range."
CNN noted that the obtained intelligence information may explain the public statements of the United States about its unwillingness to provide Ukraine with long-range weapons, due to fears that Kyiv will use these weapons to strike targets inside Russian territory.
