Members of the Hamas movement, for two years in preparation for Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, abandoned the use of smartphones and computers and switched to wired phones, CNN reported.
The US news network's sources said that this allowed them to hide the preparation for the operation from Israeli intelligence.
It added, "During two years of planning the operation, a small cell of Hamas fighters operating in the tunnels used wired telephone lines to communicate and plan the operation, and it remained hidden and undetected by Israeli intelligence until the time came to carry out the operation. Hundreds of Hamas fighters were summoned to launch the attack on October 7 ".
CNN pointed out that those responsible for the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation against Israel deliberately avoided using computers or mobile phones for two years.
The network confirmed that the tunnels form a "vast maze" used to store missiles and ammunition, and they also provide militants with the ability to move secretly without being discovered.
