"Cleopatra" Ballet Star Represents Egypt in Romania

Following his outstanding performance in Serbia, Leading Egyptian Ballet dancer "Cleopatra Star", Ahmed Yehia is to resume his European tour by taking part in the ballet "Spartacus" in Romania, which invited him and his wife "Ballerina Anja Yehia" in particular.

As part of the cultural program prepared by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, led by Minister Inas Abdel Dayem, a number of famous Egyptian ballets, such as Cleopatra, were presented at the Belgrade International Book Fair, which Egypt is a guest of honor this year.

In Cleopatra's ballet, which is newly produced by the Egyptian Opera House, Yehia played the role of "Julius Caesar". The play was met with great success during its premiere in mid-October.

"Cleopatra is the beginning of the Egyptian Opera House production. It is fresh and unique, especially as the tales of ancient Egypt include rich artistic drama that promotes tourism and Egyptian culture," Yehia said.

During an exclusive interview with Sada el Balad English (SEE), the leading dancer said that the selection of any show's elements is set according to the performance of the dancer and not the features or the external appearance as the case with films and television series.

"While some may criticize opera acts, many express the distinctiveness of music, dances and the accompanying performance, and ultimately, as a work of art, it represents the director's own perception," Yehia added.

Ahmed with Romanian ballet team

In 2004, Ahmed Yehia was presented by the international director Youssef Chahine in the film "Alexandria New York" to begin his journey with acting. He participated in a number of films and series, including the "Dam El Ghazal", Chaos, This Is, "El Belyatsho", "El Almany", "El Hob Mota", Zay Al Ward.
