Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli decided on Tuesday to suspend classes at all schools and universities nationwide on Thursday because of the coming bad weather.
Madbouli received a report from the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) that the country would witness unstable and bad weather beginning from Thursday till Saturday (March 14), according to the Cabinet's spokesman Nader Saad.
The premier's decision comes within a framework of allowing all the state's bodies to take the appropriate measures and immediately deal with the repercussions of the bad weather.
EMA's report noted that heavy rains are expected to hit the coastal cities and Lower Egypt. Thunderous rains, possibly reaching flood levels, are expected in Sinai, Suez Gulf's cities, and southern the country.
EMA also pointed to strong winds that raise dust and sand across the country.
The report called on the citizens to be careful during this weather.
