Since midnight last night, the areas south and east of the city of Omdurman witnessed clashes with heavy and light weapons between members of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF).

The battles centered around the radio and television perimeter, as explosions were heard in the surrounding areas.

Eyewitnesses also reported that the city of Nyala in the state of South Darfur witnessed fierce battles around the command of the 16th Division of the Sudanese army, leaving civilians dead and injured.

And the SAF

command issued a statement revealing that after the RSF failed attempts to seize power by force in the country’s capital, they tried to attack the leadership of the 16th Infantry Division in Nyala, but the armed forces confronted them with force and inflicted heavy losses on the enemy.

The statement added that the attacking rebels lost hundreds of dead and wounded, and the destruction of dozens of armed vehicles.

According to witnesses, on Friday, air strikes targeted areas in eastern Khartoum, and they heard the sound of anti-aircraft weapons used by the Rapid Support Forces.

The Bahri and East Nile regions, on the other side of the Nile in front of Khartoum, were subjected to air raids last night and on Friday morning.
