Clashes renewed between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces in areas in Khartoum and Omdurman, after the relative calm that the capital witnessed during the past two hours.

The residents of Khartoum were horrified by the sounds of cannons and bullets, with the first hours of dawn, in the direction of the General Command and the airport, from which columns of smoke are still rising after an explosion was heard there on Wednesday evening.

Several eyewitnesses said in the Abu Saad area of Omdurman city that the sounds of bullets and cannons shook their homes, while the General Command area witnessed intermittent gunfire and the sounds of cannons.

This comes in light of a truce that the two warring parties, the Sudanese army, and the Rapid Support Forces, agreed to adhere to, with a 24-hour ceasefire, ending at 6:00 pm local time (1600 GMT).
