Heavy fighting intensified in southern Lebanon as Israeli forces attempted to expand their ground operations along the border, clashing with fighters from Hezbollah, while Lebanese authorities said the number of displaced people across the country has surpassed one million.

According to Alqahera News, Israeli troops advanced into several towns along the southern border in the eastern, central, and western sectors, sparking fierce confrontations with Hezbollah fighters.

Hezbollah said it targeted an Israeli Merkava tank in the town of Markaba and carried out more than ten operations against advancing Israeli forces.

The Israeli military has reportedly deployed additional reinforcements and issued warnings urging residents of towns south of the Litani River to move north, signaling a possible expansion of military operations in the region.

Israeli strikes have also intensified against infrastructure in southern Lebanon, including bridges and roads linking areas north and south of the Litani River, in what analysts say is an effort to disrupt supply routes.

In response, Hezbollah said it carried out dozens of attacks against Israeli positions and advancing troops. At the peak of the escalation, the group claimed to have conducted 42 operations in a single day, targeting both Israeli military sites near the border and locations deeper inside Israel.

Meanwhile, the Government of Lebanon announced that the number of people displaced by the ongoing hostilities has exceeded one million, underscoring the growing humanitarian toll of the conflict.
