Civil Aviation Strives to Ensure Passengers Safety by Combating Coronavirus

The Minister advisor of Civil Aviation Amjad Aref, confirmed that the levels of preparedness for conducting medical examination on passengers and the application of the highest levels of prevention have been increased in accordance with the procedures and rules presented by the World Health Organization.

During the meeting of the Tourism and Aviation Committee today, headed by Amr Sidky, discussed the preventive measures taken by Egyptian airports in order to ensure the safety of passengers and airport workers in light of the Corona virus spread in the presence of representatives of the Civil Aviation Ministry.

Meanwhile, Aref hold meetings with the Supreme Committee for Occupational Safety and Health to discuss precautionary measures taken and scenarios for dealing with the crisis, assessing risks and coordinating with the relevant authorities and taking precautionary measures.

He explained that continued coordination with the Health Ministry to follow the due methods in dealing with the virus on a daily basis, follow-up with the quarantine, and follow the appropriate procedures to achieve safety and occupational health, awareness of quarantine instructions, and hygienic methods related to foods and behaviors.

Also, he talked about taking immediate precautionary health measures for countries that the disease is coming from.

In addition, he said that the Civil Aviation will provide nose, mouth masks and gloves; the concerned health officials will get rid of them after dealing with travelers and follow the health instructions regarding meals so that they are well cooked.

On other hand, the navigator Ashraf Hafez, the Cairo Air Port delegate, pointed out to the continuous cooperation with the relevant authorities in taking precautionary measures, safe disposal of waste, and reporting quarantine to any suspicion, and following strict control procedures.
