The Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) announces the opening of submissions for a series of specialized workshops, to be held as part of the Cairo Industry Days during the Festival’s 46th edition, scheduled to take place from November 12 to 21, 2025.
These workshops reflect the festival’s ongoing commitment to supporting young filmmaking and enhancing their creative skills. They provide emerging filmmakers with a unique opportunity to benefit from intensive, hands-on training led by distinguished professionals, helping participants refine their craft and advance their projects to new levels of excellence.
This year’s program includes:
Series Script Lab, led by writer Mahmoud Ezzat, designed to help writers shape their ideas and transform them into well-structured short-form drama projects.
Improvisation in Acting Workshop, conducted by coach Ramzi Lenner, in partnership with El Warsha Foundation, aiming to unleash the creative potential of actors and encourage spontaneous artistic expression.
Creative Sense in Film Editing Workshop, with editor Yasser Azmy, focusing on developing editors’ tools and enhancing their ability to craft visual storytelling in innovative ways.
The festival invites interested participants to register through the official website, or follow its social media platforms for detailed information and application requirements. The deadline for submissions is October 1, 2025.
It is worth noting that the Cairo International Film Festival, founded in 1976, is one of the oldest and most prestigious film festivals in the Arab world and Africa. It remains the only festival in the region accredited as a Category "A" festival by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF). CIFF continues to serve as a prominent platform for showcasing outstanding cinematic works from around the globe and fostering cultural dialogue between nations.
