President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received William Burns, Director of the CIA, and his accompanying delegation today, in the presence of Major General Abbas Kamel, Head of General Intelligence.
at the outset of the meeting, CIA Director conveyed US President Joe Biden's greetings to Sisi, and expressed the United States' appreciation for the strategic partnership between the two countries.
In turn, Sisi valued this sentiment, affirming the ongoing consultation and coordination between the two nations for the benefit of regional and international security and stability.
The meeting also addressed regional developments, discussing the latest updates on joint efforts to reach a truce and ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
In this context, Sisi reiterated Egypt's stance against the continuation of military operations in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the importance of the international community assuming its responsibilities to stop the war and ensure the delivery of sufficient relief aid to alleviate the humanitarian disaster faced by Palestinians in the Strip.
He underscored the necessity of taking serious and effective steps to prevent the expansion of the conflict in the region and stressed the importance of implementing the two-state solution as part of a just and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian issue.
For his part, CIA Director appreciated Egypt's efforts to cease fire and implement humanitarian aid, affirming his country's appreciation for Egypt's wise and responsible positions that strongly push towards establishing peace, security, and development regionally and internationally.
