American actress Christina Ricci has joined the star-studded cast of the fourth installment of "The Matrix" franchise".
The movie, tentatively titled "The Matrix 4", sees Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Jada Pinkett Smith, reprising their iconic roles as Neo, Trinity, and Niobe.
The star-studded cast also includes Daniel Bernhardt, Lambert Wilson, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra, and Jonathan Groff.
The movie marks a reunion between Ricci and director Lana Wachowski. The duo previously collaborated in the 2008 movie "Speed Racer".
"The Matrix 4" is set to simultaneously hit theaters and HBO Max on December 22.
The movie was initially scheduled for May 21, 2021, but was pushed back to December 22 due to the temporary production shutdown caused by the ongoing pandemic.
"The Matrix" is a 1999 science fiction action movie that is set in a dystopian future as human resistance fight against machines that had subdued humanity by keeping them inside a digital world.
