The Phoenix Suns gave an early series lead in the NBA Finals after crushing the Milwaukee Bucks 118-105 in Game 1 in Phoenix on Tuesday night.
All of the talk coming into the series was about whether Giannis Antetokounmpo would be able to play after suffering a knee injury in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Atlanta Hawks, but the Bucks were dealt some good news not long before tip-off as the Greek Freak was given the green light to start.
"Antetokounmpo ended up playing 35 minutes, scoring 20 points and grabbing 17 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as the Suns' trio of Chris Paul, Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton combined for 81 points. Khris Middleton was the Bucks' leading scorer with 29 points, while Jrue Holiday managed just 10." Marca reported.
"It was Paul, playing in his first NBA Finals, who led the Suns to the victory, as he came up with some crucial buckets in the second half, particularly during a run in which he scored 10 of the Suns' 12 points in a 2:35 period in the game to increase Phoenix's lead from 74-62 to 86-68, thus putting the game beyond reach for the Bucks," it added.
