Dr. Ibrahim Al-Awad Abu Kamah, Acting Minister of Health and Social Development for Sennar, announced an increase in cholera cases in the Sennar locality and city, confirming the death of seven residents who were buried yesterday in the Kaboush neighborhood of Sennar city.
Abu Kamah expressed his regret over the delay in receiving medications due to heavy rains and floods. He noted that shipments of medicine and food supplies had been dispatched weeks ago, praising the efforts of the armed forces in assisting with the transportation.
He also highlighted the directive from the governor of Sennar to rent tractors to expedite the delivery of medicine to address the health crisis. Additionally, the government of Sennar has established an emergency health committee in Gedaref city to monitor and manage the situation.
