Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the BRICS summit in the Russian city of Kazan in October, Russian news agency reported on Saturday , according to Chinese envoy to Moscow.
The BRICS summit is scheduled to take place from October 22 to 24.
The BRICS group originally included Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, and was named using the first letters of these countries in English.
Last year, the group began expanding its membership as part of its effort to challenge the Western-dominated global system by inviting Saudi Arabia, Iran, Ethiopia, Egypt, Argentina, and the UAE to join, with more than 40 other countries expressing interest in joining.
According to the Russian Export Center Agro Export, the BRICS group represents more than 30% of the world's agricultural land.
The group also accounts for over 40% of global grain and meat production, nearly 40% of dairy products, and more than 50% of total fish and seafood production.
