For the first time in a month, people in Beijing had the chance to visit parks and restaurants after the authorities eased pandemic restrictions after controlling the latest outbreak of Coronavirus in the city, Al-Ain reported on Tuesday.

A Chinese resident Zhang Suyan told Reuters that she called her friends saying: “let’s make a reservation” after hearing that the restaurants will be opened.

“We don’t have such an atmosphere or feeling at home,” she added.

Chen Feng, the manager of a restaurant, told Reuters that the sales dropped 70% when Beijing authorities imposed a new "zero-Covid" strategy.

After the opening, people stood in huge lines. The manager added he and his mates served 350 people in only two hours.

Museums, cinemas and gyms are allowed to be opened using only 75% of their capacity, on the other hand, delivery drivers can drop the packages at the customers' doors, instead of leaving them at the entrances of the buildings or compounds.

In the same context, schools were partially reopened earlier, and they will welcome the rest of the students on June 13, followed by Kindergarten students on June 20.

On the other hand, the 25-million city in population Shanghai ended its long lockdown that lasted for almost two months.

However, all restaurants remained closed except the services of take away and delivery after finding new cases in a compound. The compound will be locked for extra 14 days.
