In a grand reception commemorating the 97th anniversary of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), distinguished guests gathered to celebrate and discuss the future of China-Egypt military relations. Notable Egyptian military officials, including Major General Moataz Ibrahim Abu Al-Nour, representing the Minister of National Defense, and Major General Muhammad Ahmed Al-Sayyed Al-Babli, representing the Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, were in attendance.
The ambassador expressed gratitude for their presence and reflected on the PLA's remarkable journey over the past 97 years. "Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the PLA has remained true to its mission, contributing significantly to national independence, sovereignty, and global peace," he stated.
In recent years, China has undertaken comprehensive reforms in national defense and military structure, achieving significant transformations through political loyalty, technological advancements, and legal compliance. The PLA has evolved from a single-service force to a formidable military capable of joint operations among multiple services. This modernization is set to continue, with the goal of building a world-class military by the centennial anniversary of the PLA in 2027 and achieving full modernization by 2035.
The ambassador emphasized China's commitment to a defensive national defense policy, underscoring the PLA's role as a force for global peace. "China has never initiated a conflict, invaded another country's territory, or started a proxy war. We are builders of world peace, contributors to global development, and defenders of international order," he affirmed.
Highlighting the strategic partnership between China and Egypt, the ambassador noted that recent joint statements by the heads of state have propelled bilateral relations to new heights. In a world facing complex security challenges, including political instability, military conflicts, terrorism, and crises in energy and food, China and Egypt are poised to deepen military cooperation.
"We are committed to working with Egypt to enhance military exchanges and cooperation, enriching our comprehensive strategic partnership," he declared. "Through concrete actions, we will implement the Global Security Initiative and build a community with a shared future for mankind, promoting regional and world peace."
The reception concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthening China-Egypt relations and advancing mutual goals of peace and development.
