President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi participated, via video conference, in the high-level dialogue session on global development in the framework of the “BRICS-Plus”, according to Bassam Rady, the official spokesman for the Presidency.
The conference comes under the chairmanship of Chinese President Xi Jinping, the current president of the BRICS group, and the participation of a group of heads of state and government.
Sisi affirmed before the BRICS gathering that Egypt continues to implement initiatives aimed at completing the achievement of comprehensive and sustainable development goals for the Egyptian people.
BRICS grouping is one of the most important economic gatherings in the world, which includes in its membership Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, Rady said.
The high-level dialogue session of this year’s summit is an affirmation of Egypt’s position and its pioneering political, economic and commercial capabilities at the regional level, which qualifies it to strengthen its relations with this important development forum.
The invitation also reflects the strength of the ties based on the comprehensive strategic partnership in various fields between Egypt and China, as well as the close friendship between President Sisi and his Chinese counterpart.
