The Chinese Ambassador to Cairo, Liao Liqiang, said that China and Egypt are partners on the path of modernization, and Egyptian-Chinese relations are at their best in history, and they are a model for Chinese-African relations based on solidarity, cooperation and mutual benefit.
He added in a press conference held this morning to provide a briefing on the outcomes of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum summit that China is keen to make joint efforts with Egypt to seize the opportunity of the success of the Cooperation Forum summit, and push China-Africa cooperation to achieve modernization and establish a high-level China-Africa community for a shared future, and send a clear message that the "Global South" is determined to move forward together, and push forward the establishment of a community of shared future for humanity, and push the world towards a bright future of peace, security, prosperity and progress.
Regarding cultural relations between the two countries, the ambassador said that they are also witnessing development, as there are about 30 universities teaching the Chinese language, and more than 20 government middle schools teaching the Chinese language, and the Confucius Institute, Confucius Classroom and Luban Workshop have received great interest.
He said that Chinese tourists are very interested in Egypt as a tourist destination and there are 32 direct flights between the two countries every week, noting that Egypt recently transferred about 800 precious artifacts to China for display in Shanghai, which aroused wide interest in China. A squadron of Chinese aircraft also flew over the pyramids, leaving a wonderful imprint on the Chinese-Egyptian friendship.
