China’s Fudan University has conferred an honorary doctorate on Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, in recognition of his contributions to academic cooperation and Arab–Chinese dialogue.
The ceremony, held Thursday in Shanghai, drew Arab academics, diplomats and cultural figures. According to League spokesman Gamal Roshdy, Aboul Gheit expressed deep gratitude to the university and China’s State Council Academic Committee, calling the award both a personal honor and a recognition of the League’s role in promoting cross-civilizational dialogue.
Aboul Gheit also praised China’s modern development, highlighting the Arab world’s appreciation for the country’s long civilizational heritage and its contributions to global progress.
