On Thursday, Bakhtiyor Saidov, the acting foreign minister of Uzbekistan, requested a phone conversation with Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang.

China-Uzbekistan relations have allegedly accelerated in development under the strategic direction of the two chiefs of state, according to Qin.

He stated that China is prepared to work with Uzbekistan to effectively execute the significant consensus reached by the two presidents of state and to push for further developments in their comprehensive and mutually beneficial relations.

Qin stated that China will continue to unwaveringly support Uzbekistan's independent development and oppose foreign interference in its internal affairs, pointing out that strong mutual support on issues involving each other's core interests is the political foundation and core essence of China-Uzbekistan relations.

For his part, Saidov stated that he is prepared to work with Qin to strengthen their friendship and push for greater success in their cooperation across a range of industries.

According to Saidov, Uzbekistan strongly upholds the one-China policy, shares China's views on matters pertaining to regional security and stability, and will continue to firmly assist China on matters pertaining to their respective core interests.
