Chinese Ambassador to Cairo, Liao Liqiang, affirmed that Beijing fully supports Egypt's plan for the reconstruction of Gaza, which was adopted by Arab nations at the extraordinary Cairo summit.
He emphasized that Gaza is the homeland of the Palestinian people, and China will work with Egypt to contribute to the accelerated development of the Global South.
In an interview with the Chinese newspaper "China Daily", Liao stated, "The international community must make every effort to achieve a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire in Gaza and increase humanitarian aid."
The ambassador highlighted that China is a strategic partner of Middle Eastern nations and a sincere friend to Arab countries.
He also underscored the strategic importance of Sino-Egyptian relations, reaffirming Beijing's commitment to collaborating with Cairo on development initiatives.
Furthermore, Liao expressed China's eagerness for Egypt’s active participation in the agenda of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) this year and its support for related activities under China's presidency of the organization.
