China has delivered two shipments of humanitarian aid to Beirut Port, totaling around 650 tons of food and relief supplies, as Lebanon continues to face deepening economic and humanitarian pressures.

The aid, which arrived on Monday, comes amid ongoing crises in the country, including displacement and rising strain on public services and infrastructure. An official ceremony was held at Beirut Port to mark the delivery, attended by Lebanese and Chinese officials, including Lebanon’s Minister of Social Affairs Haneen El Sayed and China’s Ambassador to Lebanon Chen Chuandong.

Lebanese officials welcomed the assistance, describing it as a timely contribution to national relief efforts.

The Ministry of Social Affairs said the supplies, food, blankets, tents, hygiene kits, and other essentials, will be distributed through the Higher Relief Committee in coordination with government agencies to ensure support reaches vulnerable families.

The Chinese ambassador reaffirmed Beijing’s support for Lebanon, noting that the aid reflects long-standing bilateral ties and shared humanitarian cooperation. He also highlighted China’s previous assistance following the Beirut Port explosion in 2020 and during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lebanon expressed gratitude for what it described as a strong gesture of solidarity, stressing that the aid will help ease urgent needs as many families continue to struggle with daily hardships.
