Nikkei Asia is tracking Today, Monday, the spread of the new Covid-19 that originated in the central Chinese city of Wuhan, after recording 11 new Coronavirus cases. The china's National Health Commission reported that the domestically transmitted cases were reported in Shanghai. No new suspected cases or deaths related to the disease were reported on Sunday, the commission reported.
On other hand, among all the imported cases, 3,486 had been discharged from hospitals after recovery while 298 remained hospitalized, with two in severe condition, the commission said.
In contrast, China continues to report the presence of coronavirus on imported food products and packaging. Recent reports include detection of COVID-19 on packages of fish from India, beef from Brazil and Argentina and pork from Germany.
Noteworthy, the shipment had entered through the port of Shanghai. On Nov. 9, part of it was transferred to a cold store in Nanjing City, the capital of Jiangsu. On Nov. 10, prior to release to the market, Nanjing authorities tested the product and detected nucleic acid on the outer packaging.
Earlier, the China Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced on September, that Coronavirus vaccines being developed in China may be ready for use by the general public as early as November.
“Phase 3 clinical trials were proceeding smoothly and the vaccines could be ready for the general public in November or December,” CDC chief Guizhen Wu said in an interview with state TV.
