China is prepared to join forces with the international community to promote a political solution to the crisis in Ukraine.
This statement came by Wang Yi, the director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China’s Central Committee in a conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris on Wednesday.
"China stands ready to cooperate with the international community, including France, to promote a path of political solution [for the conflict], and reach a ceasefire at an early date," Wang Yi was quoted as saying by the Chinese Foreign Ministry in a statement on its website.
He also mentioned that his country attached importance to France's role as an independent major country in the efforts to resolve the crisis.
According to Wang Yi, China had adopted an objective and impartial attitude to the Ukrainian issue and was always committed to promoting peace talks.
Previously, The Chinese Foreign Ministry reported that Wang Yi was set to visit France, Italy, Hungary, and Russia from February 14-22.
He is also scheduled to participate in the Munich Security Conference that will take place from February 17-19, according to the ministry.
