Authorities in China have ordered their citizens to work from their homes, coinciding with the imposition of restrictions to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (known also as COVID-19, and the closure of dozens of subway stations.
The Chinese authorities continue to follow the "zero COVID" policy to limit the spread of the deadly virus, which requires imposing closures and mass examinations while fighting the largest outbreak of the epidemic since its early days.
Also, the authorities asked workers who had to go to their offices to drive their cars themselves and avoid gatherings.
Beijing announced the registration of fifty local cases of the virus today, Thursday, a day after it confirmed that the residents of Chaoyang, the most populous district in Beijing, with 3.5 million people, must work from their homes.
Beijing is taking measures cautiously after the prolonged lockdown in China's largest city, Shanghai, which led to food shortages and public anger.
