China has successfully launched a new satellite into orbit, designed to enhance internet services on Earth, according to the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC).
The satellite, named WHG-03, is the third in a series dedicated to improving global internet connectivity.
The satellite was launched on Thursday, October 10, from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan Province.
The launch took place at 9:50 PM Beijing time (4:50 PM Moscow time), using a Long March-3B carrier rocket. This marked the 538th successful use of the Long March rocket series in China's space missions.
The Long March-3B is a three-stage rocket that stands 56.3 meters tall with a diameter of 4.2 meters. It is capable of carrying payloads weighing up to 12 tons into low Earth orbit, making it a powerful tool in China's expanding space program.
