The China Aerospace Corporation (CASC) announced the successful launch of ten Geely-0 communications satellites designed to support the automotive industry.
The launch took place on Friday at 2:30 PM Beijing time (Thursday at 9:30 PM Moscow time) from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, using a CZ-6 rocket.
According to CASC, these satellites will be used for autonomous driving technology tests and to facilitate vehicle-to-vehicle communication for Geely, a major Chinese automotive manufacturer.
Additionally, the satellites will play a role in ocean monitoring. This launch follows the deployment of two previous batches of Geely-0 satellites in 2022 and 2024.
China's space program continues to advance with a focus on developing satellite technology, meteorological capabilities, and space navigation systems.
These efforts are part of China's broader ambition to enhance its space exploration capabilities and improve technological infrastructure across various sectors.
