China announced today that Premier Li Qiang will soon undertake an official visit to Egypt, a move aimed at further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations.

Speaking at a regular press conference, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning highlighted the historical significance and evolving strength of China-Egypt relations.

"Egypt is the first Arab and African country to establish diplomatic relations with New China. China and Egypt are comprehensive strategic partners. In recent years, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, China-Egypt relations have achieved robust development with deepening political mutual trust, fruitful practical cooperation in various fields as well as close and effective multilateral coordination.”

During the upcoming visit, Premier Li is expected to hold in-depth discussions with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and other senior officials. Talks will focus on enhancing bilateral cooperation, promoting shared development goals, and addressing issues of mutual concern.

According to Mao, the visit is aimed at further advancing the long-standing friendship between the two countries and accelerating progress toward building " building a community with a shared future for the new era."

She added that China also sees the visit as a step forward in constructing a broader China-Arab community with a shared future at an elevated level.
