Deputy Permanent Representative of China to United Nations Ambassador Geng Shuang called for the resumption of peace talks between the Palestinians and the Israelis.
In a Security Council meeting on the Middle East, Shuang said that the Palestinians and Israelis should adhere to the strategic choice of peace talks, and re-launch dialogue without delay, Chinese media reported on Tuesday.
Shuang added that China welcomes the initiative of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to hold an international peace conference next year.
The Chinese Representative called on the international players to remain neutral and objective for the peace process in the Middle East, explaining that any solution to the Palestinian issue must respond to the voices of the countries of the region, especially the Palestinians, and take into account the concerns of all parties.
