In a recent address, Chinese diplomat Wang Yi called for urgent international intervention to halt the ongoing Palestinian-Israeli conflict, which has resulted in over 100,000 civilian casualties and left many innocent lives trapped under rubble. Yi highlighted the dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza, emphasizing that "There is no distinction between noble and humble lives, and life should not be labeled by race or religion."

Describing the ongoing conflict as a "tragedy for humanity and a disgrace for civilization," Yi criticized the international community's failure to end the violence and reiterated the pressing need for an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian assistance. "The international community must act promptly to promote an immediate ceasefire as its overriding priority and ensure humanitarian assistance as its pressing moral obligation," he stated.

Yi also underscored the longstanding issue of the Palestinian territories' occupation and the Palestinians' aspiration for statehood, stressing that these matters can no longer be overlooked. He argued that addressing the historical injustice faced by Palestinians and implementing a two-state solution is crucial for breaking the cycle of conflict, curbing extremist ideologies, and achieving lasting peace in the Middle East.

China's position firmly supports the Palestinian people's right to regain their legitimate national rights and advocates for a comprehensive, just, and lasting resolution to the Palestinian question. Yi called for Palestine's full membership in the United Nations and urged UN Security Council members not to hinder this process. He proposed a more inclusive and authoritative international peace conference to establish a clear timetable and roadmap for achieving the two-state solution.
