The Spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in Egypt issued a statement regarding China's countermeasures in response to recent U.S. military sales to Taiwan, stating that the United States announced a large-scale arms sale to the Taiwan region of China a few days ago.
The spokesperson characterized this move as blatant interference in China's internal affairs and a grave violation of the one-China principle and the three China-U.S. joint communiqués, asserting that it seriously harms China’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity while undermining peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.
The spokesperson added that this action sends a "wrong and dangerous message" to separatist forces seeking so-called "Taiwan independence," expressing China's strong dissatisfaction and categorical rejection of the move.
Consequently, the spokesperson announced that, in accordance with the "Law of the People's Republic of China on Countering Foreign Sanctions," China has decided to take countermeasures against 20 American military industry companies and 10 of their senior officials who have been involved in arming Taiwan in recent years.
Furthermore, the spokesperson emphasized that the Taiwan issue is at the very core of China’s pivotal interests, involving its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He stressed that China's resolve to safeguard its national security remains unshakable and that it will respond strongly to all provocations.
The spokesperson concluded by stating that no amount of advanced weaponry sold to Taiwan will obstruct the historical trend, affirming that China's eventual unification is inevitable.
