China recorded the first human victim of the Simian 40 virus, SV40, after a vet died a month after contracting the virus, the Global Times reported on Sunday.
The vet suffered from various symptoms such as vomiting, and he visited various hospitals for receiving treatments before he died on May 27.
He contracted the virus after being in direct contact with two dead monkeys for medical reasons.
The Global Times added that the patient didn't suffer from any wounds or dangerous injuries.
This case is the first human case of Simian virus in China.
