China has allocated 848 million yuan from its central budget to bolster flood control and relief efforts across 12 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities.
This initiative aims to mitigate the impact of severe flooding that has affected various parts of the country.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the provinces and regions benefiting from this financial support include Hunan, Jiangxi, Hubei, Guangdong, Fujian, Zhejiang, Guangxi, Anhui, Guizhou, Chongqing, Heilongjiang, and Yunnan.
The allocated funds will primarily focus on repairing flood-damaged water infrastructure, such as dams and barriers, and addressing underlying risks in the affected areas.
China frequently faces severe flooding, especially during the summer months, due to heavy rainfall and typhoons.
These natural disasters often lead to significant damage to infrastructure, displacement of people, and economic losses.
