The Chinese consulate in Osaka has urged its citizens to refrain from traveling to Japan due to recent security concerns and unrest.
The advisory follows an incident on Wednesday in which a Chinese national was attacked by unidentified assailants in Osaka, resulting in the theft of approximately $32,000.
The consulate warned that similar incidents have been occurring with increasing frequency and emphasized the current unstable situation in Japan. Citizens were advised to avoid travel to the country in the near term.
For those already in Osaka, the consulate recommended staying informed of local developments, remaining vigilant, limiting the carrying of large sums of cash, and strengthening personal safety measures.
