A number of children at a shelter in Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip, performed a symbolic Hajj ritual, circumambulating a model of the Kaaba. The event aimed to bring joy to their hearts and alleviate the harsh realities of life in the camps.
The children participated in symbolic rituals that included circumambulating the model of the Kaaba, reciting Eid takbirs (chants of praise to God), and wearing simple clothing resembling the ihram (pilgrim's garb), in an effort to revive the spirit of the religious occasion amidst the difficult humanitarian conditions faced by displaced people living in shelters.
